La Separation: Knowingly detailed, beautifully performed journal of the simmering tension between a wedded couple (Huppert and Auteuil) as their relation falls apart. Cast includes Isabelle Huppert, Daniel Auteuil, Jerome Deschamps, Karin Viard, and Laurence Lerel. (85 minutes, 1994)
The Meteor Man: Townsend plays a hesitant, nerdy school teacher with a fear of heights whose hit by an abnormal emerald meteor that turns him into a superhero. Townsend additionally inscribed this “Superman N the Hood” story, full of good values, but very few funny moments. As a comedy it just doesn’t soar. Cast includes Robert Townsend, Marla Gibbs, Eddie Griffin, Robert Guillaume, James Earl Jones, Roy Fegan, and Bill Cosby. (100 minutes, 1993)
The Peacemaker: A train wreck, with a train loaded with nuclear weapons, in Russia leaves what appears to be a nuclear disaster in its wake. Nuclear expert Dr. Julia Kelly thinks otherwise. She is convinced the explosion was staged, and the nuclear weapons have fallen into dangerous hands. Colonel Devoe agrees, and the two must uncover the conspiracy that has lead to nuclear weapons falling into the wrong hands.
